Privacy Policy

The short version
Your shifts, sleep plans, profile, and notes live on your device. We don't collect, transmit, or sell them. The only data that may leave your phone is what Apple sends through Apple Health (with your permission) and anonymous diagnostic data Apple may collect on our behalf if you opt in via your iPhone Settings.
Information we store
ShiftSleeper stores the following on your device only, inside your iPhone's app sandbox and an App Group container shared with the ShiftSleeper widgets and Apple Watch app:
- Your shifts, schedules, and rotation pattern
- Your chronotype, sleep target, caffeine cutoff, wind-down preference
- Your name and occupation, if you enter them
- Generated sleep plans and notes
Information we do not collect
We do not run servers that receive your shift data. We do not have analytics SDKs that profile you. We do not sell or share your information with third parties for advertising or any other purpose. We do not require an account or an email address to use the app.
Apple Health
If you grant Health permission, ShiftSleeper reads sleep samples to compare your actual sleep with your plan, and writes planned sleep windows as "in bed" entries so other Health-aware apps can respect them. Health data stays in Apple Health on your device. We never see it. You can revoke Health access any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → ShiftSleeper.
Notifications
ShiftSleeper schedules local notifications for wake alarms, wind-down reminders, caffeine cutoffs, and light exposure prompts. These are scheduled by your iPhone and are not sent through any of our servers.
Purchases
Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple shares only an anonymous receipt with the app to verify your entitlement. We do not see your name, payment method, or address. Manage or cancel subscriptions any time in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Diagnostics & crash reports
If you have opted in to Share with App Developers in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may send anonymized crash logs to us. These contain no shift, sleep, or personal data.
Children
ShiftSleeper is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If a child uses the app, no data leaves their device.
Changes
If we ever materially change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and post a notice in-app before the change takes effect.
